CHRIST AMONG US?


ROMAN CATHOLIC  CHURCH -  CHRISTIAN?

I am of the conviction that you get people in the Roman Catholic Church that sincerely believes. Even came to know Christ as their Saviour.
In this blog I want to look at the Catholic Church at large as an organisation and just highlight some of the main teaching to indicated that the Catholic Church as an organisation are not Christian, if evaluated in the light of the Bible.

I will focus only on some of the massive amounts of information that is readily available.

Let look at a book: Christ Among Us: A Modern Day Presentation Of The Catholic Faith

See if you can justify the teachings for Scripture (The Bible – 66 Books)
P37 – The flood, Noah and the tower of Babel are symbolical stories.

P67 – Mary remain a virgin all of her life.
P91 – Are the “Hail Mary” prayer in line with Biblical teaching?

P91 – Mary is sinless?
P141/2 - The Popes are Peter successors and God’s representatives on earth.

P148 – Christ’s infallible guidance are transferred to the Pope and bishops.
P168 – The Bible cannot be understood without the living traditions of the church.

P190 – Baptism “Christening” make us one with Christ and a new person.
P191 – Baptism gives life to those that do not posses life.

P191 – Through baptism Jesus forgives us our sins.
P196 – Because you become a new person at your Baptism you can receive a new name, that of a saint.

P199/200 – There are other ways in being united with God - “baptism of desire” and the “baptism in your blood”
P200 – Many come to God through Non-Christian faiths.

P200 – The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is holy in other Faiths.
P200 – If you do not believe in a personal Go, but live according to your conscience you’ll be saved.

P231/2 – At baptism you are “born-again” and at confirmation you are “filled with the Holy Spirit.”
P244&P246 – At the Eucharist the bread and wine is turned into the body and blood of Christ.

P276 – Through the regular partaking of the Eucharist you are gradually changed in to Christ.
P276 - Through the regular partaking of the Eucharist you can control sinful desires.

P290 – You can compensate for you sins through good deeds, confession, etc.
P291 – You can compensate for the sins of those in purgatory by your good deeds.

P298 – Sins must be confessed to a priest.
P307 – Methods of penance is for your sin is fasting and abstinence.

P307 – The best method of penance is to show kindness to others, as well as charity.
P368 – Mary was born sinless and remained a virgin the rest of her life.

P368 – Mary ascended to heaven.
P370 - Mary is our “mediatrix”, “co-redemptrix” and “Queen”

P418/9 – Purgatory is a painful existence where we meet the Lord after death. Here penance can be done for your sin by growing in love (In purgatory you cannot help yourself, those on earth can do penance on your behalf)
P424 – It is our responsibility to create a new heaven and earth.

P425 – Heaven is not a place, but unity with God.
